PURPOSE OF THE WORK: MEP engineers installation under the atrium roof
PRODUCTS: FlyDeck system with 25 cm aluminum beams, handrails and stair towers
HIGHLIGHTS: A 2270 sqm tailor-made suspended structure, load capacity: 150 kN/m2; suspension on steel girders, sloped roof, 40 m height from ground floor
The suspended FlyDeck working platform has been installed under the Atrium dome of the new Guggenheim Museum for the MEP engineers installation.
Customer-specific requests were: the lowest possible weight of the suspended structure; load capacity 150 kN/m2; the working platform had to follow the slope of the roof and scaffoldings had to be installed on the working platform to reach different high levels.
The FlyDeck suspended structure made of aluminum 25 cm beams was the only solution available on the market for this type of work.
Because of the dome shape of the roof, the structure has been built in steps and suspended on the steel girders by means of high load bearing straps. Cup-lock scaffoldings of various heights have been built on the FlyDeck platform to give workers the opportunity to reach multiple levels.
A comfortable staircase made of MP multidirectional component and prefabricated aluminium ladders allows to reach the suspended structure.
For this project, 3 staircases of 45 m height have been provided.
