PURPOSE OF THE WORK: Bridge maintenance of piers, pier-caps, and decks
PRODUCTS: FlyDeck system with transversal 25 cm aluminum beam, scaffoldings, mast climbing work platforms
HIGHLIGHTS: Bridge length 406 m, central arch span of 130 m; bridge height of 60 above the water surface. About 4,200 decks, 2,100 m of aluminum beams and, approximately, a thousand chains were used.
Various structures were set up:
FlyDeck suspended structure with transversal 25 cm aluminum beams for the viaduct arch. The FlyDeck was designed in steps to follow the shape of the arch and allow workers to reach every point of the arch.
Fixed scaffold starting from the ground for the abutment’s maintenance.
A staircase tower in span n.11 with a walkway along the scaffolding providing quick connection with all the parts of the structure.
Several single-column mast climbing work platforms for the piers concrete maintenance guaranteeing a more rapid and effective intervention than with a fixed scaffolding.
A connecting walkway with pier n.4 built along the escarpment to allow safe and quick access to the base of the arch.
