PURPOSE OF THE WORK: Temporary suspended structure for viaduct maintenance
PRODUCTS: Flydeck system with longitudinal 45 cm high beams, transport platform
HIGHLIGHTS: Viaduct length 1123 m, viaduct maximum height 45 m, 25 spans.
Viaduct length 1123 m, viaduct maximum height 45 m, 25 spans. A temporary FlyDeck suspended structure has been installed on the 1123 m long bridge to allow workers to easily work under the bridge deck.
The use of the new FlyDeck system required the erection of only 9,000 sqm of structure, thus a considerable saving in material and, therefore, a considerable reduction in cost compared to standard suspended scaffold system.
In addition, the landscape was not disfigured by the typical columns of scaffolding that starting from below would have covered the entire area and the view below the highway.
An electric transport platform was installed to allow workers to easily reach the working platform with the equipment and carry out the restoration work while one staircase tower per span allowed go down from the street level.
